Alexander Gray Scholarship Fund Dinner
Wednesday, October 7, 2015
7:45 – 9:30 p.m.
Central Bistro, 34 Summer Street, 2nd Floor, Boston

The Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association is pleased to announce a special fundraiser dinner to benefit the Alexander Gray Scholarship Fund immediately following this year's Law Student Reception on October 7, 2015.  The Law Student Reception is being graciously hosted by Proskauer.

Please plan to join us immediately after the Law Student Reception for a dinner at the highly rated Central Bistro (f/k/a Petit Robert restaurant), a mere 10 minute walk from the Law Student Reception (at the corner of Summer and Arch streets).  Central Bistro will be offering a choice of entrees (including vegetarian and gluten-free dishes) plus appetizer and dessert, as well as an opportunity to learn about the amazing accomplishments of past recipients of the Gray Scholarship and how you can help support LGBTQ legal leaders of tomorrow.

The Gray Scholarship is awarded annually to a law student who demonstrates a commitment to and involvement in the LGBTQ community, exceptional leadership, maturity and responsibility.  Among the past 9 recipients are a former co-chair of the Bar Association; the Executive Director of Civil Legal Corps, a national fellowship and training program for young attorneys dedicated to closing the justice gap for low and moderate income Americans; a principal co-author of the 326-page manual Transgender Family Law: A Guide to Effective Advocacy; and the founder of Queer Youth Space.  Your generous support of the Gray Fund will enable future leaders of the LGBTQ bar to devote themselves to worthwhile not-for-profit activities and avoid excessive debt while completing their legal education.

Additional Details:

The ticket price for this event is $100 per person, the net proceeds from which will support the Gray Scholarship Fund.  While no portion of the ticket price is expected to be tax deductible, any additional contributions made directly to the Gray Scholarship Fund (c/o the Massachusetts Bar Foundation) are eligible to be tax deductible (details here).

Central Bistro is located on the second floor of 34 Summer Street.  Seating is very limited and tickets must be purchased by October 1, 2015.  Tickets may be purchased here or by contacting Dan Levin at daniel.e.levin@gmail.com or 617-309-0645.

UPDATE:  We apologize for the difficulty that some of our members are having in using the web system for purchasing tickets to this event, particularly from workplace internet browsers.  We are actively working to understand the reason for the technical issues and to resolve them.  If you experience difficulties, please contact  Dan Levin at daniel.e.levin@gmail.com or 617-309-0645 and we will be happy to make alternative payment arrangements.  Again, we apologize for any inconvenience.

Please be sure to join us at the Law Student Reception beforehand!  There is no charge to attend the Law Student Reception at the offices of Proskauer (One International Place, Boston, MA). From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, you are warmly invited to enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres to meet other Boston-area lawyers (and law students of course), and to learn more about the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association.

For the reception (only), please RSVP here by September 30th.  We hope you can join us at both the reception and the dinner afterward!
