Join the UMass Lowell Pre-Law Society & Pride Alliance for its Marriage Equality Forum on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 5:30 p.m., at O'Leary Library, Room 222, 61 Wilder St., Lowell.

Lawyers directly involved in the marriage equality struggles of the past 20 years will discuss how we got to this year's historic Supreme Court decisions and what to expect in the years ahead. There will be a Q&A session with the audience. Panelists include:

  • Vickie Henry, a senior staff attorney at Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD) and leader of its Youth Initiative
  • Hon. Mark Mason, an associate judge in the Springfield District Court, who has been active in GLBT issues for many years
  • Maura Healey, chief of the civil rights division of the Attorney General's Office, who has tried cases on marriage equality

The program will be moderated by Dr. Frank Talty, a lecturer in the Political Science Department at the UMass Lowell. All are welcome.
