Massachusetts Commission on GLBT Youth Hearings

The Massachusetts Commission on GLBT Youth is looking for a diverse group of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth and their allies to speak at our public hearings on June 20th and 21st, 2012.

These hearings provide an opportunity for young people and their allies... to share their stories with state legislators, professionals, and community members. Those who testify will celebrate successes and give feedback on what still needs to be done to help GLBT youth thrive. The hearings will represent a diversity of experiences and topics, from dealing with school administrations to bullying to finding support or participating in GLBT-focused activism.

Students and youth (ages 22 and under) of all races, genders, abilities and experiences are encouraged to testify. Testimony can either be spoken at the hearing itself or submitted in writing. Written submissions can also be kept anonymous.
The hearings will take place on the following dates and locations.
Boston - June 20, 2012 from 1:00-6:00 PM at the Massachusetts State House (24 Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02108)
Holyoke - June 21, 2012 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Holyoke Community College (303 Homestead Ave., Holyoke, MA 01040)
