Volunteer Opportunity to Help LGBT Veterans - October 25 Webinar

We are looking for some good men and women to be of service to LGBT veterans, and wanted to reach out to the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association.

Linda Klein, President of the American Bar Association, has established a national Day of Service to help our nation’s veterans.  The LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles, together with the National LGBT Bar Association, ABA and OutServe-SLDN, have created a program to assist LGBT veterans with updating their Certificates of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (Form DD214) to either change their name to reflect the chosen name for transgender veterans or to upgrade the discharge status from “Other Than Honorable” to “Honorable” as part of the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

To help train attorneys with this project, the ABA will be hosting a free webinar on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.  Here is a link to a flyer and registration this free webinar:  http://www.americanbar.org/groups/sexual_orientation.html

How To Be an Ally Toolkit. Proudly presented by the Commission of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. Using education and training to open hearts and minds.
